“With believing, comes belonging.”
One of the most important decisions of your life is the choice to become a part of a family of faith. The fellowship of God’s entire family–the church–helps us recognize God’s presence in our lives. He has brought each of us to this place and wants us to fully experience His love. We want this decision to be part of a thoughtful, prayerful process, so we encourage you to find out about who we are, what we believe, and how you might participate in our church family.
The Three Steps in the Membership Process
STEP ONE: MEET AND EXPLORE
You are invited to begin the membership process by meeting a pastor and church elder, usually at the end of a worship service any Sunday morning, at the front of the Sanctuary. We’ll take a few minutes meeting together in a side room to fill out an information sheet and get some background history. You’ll have the opportunity to briefly articulate your personal testimony, and help us begin to know you.
After sharing with us, you will be asked these basic questions:
- Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?
- Do you trust in Him?
- Will you be His disciple, obeying His Word, and showing His love?
- Is it your desire to be a faithful member of this congregation, participating in the life of the church with your time, talents, spiritual gifts, and finances?
STEP TWO: MEMBERSHIP CLASS AND ELDER TEAM APPROVAL
You will be invited to join pastors in the church, along with others in the membership process, for two informal class opportunities. We want you to know more about the life of the church, our Connect Groups, exploring your own spiritual gifts, and how you can be involved. Relationships, mission, and purpose are foundational for our church family and are the building blocks of faith-building life. Upon completion of all the introduction, Our Elder Team delights in confirming this process.
STEP THREE: INTRODUCTION IN WORSHIP – WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
Some Sunday morning service following the classes, we’ll take a moment to officially introduce you and your family to the whole Mountain View Church Family. We want to celebrate God‘s leading and pray for our future together!
