Interim Pastor Tim Haugen and wife Ann
IMG_2755

Pastor Tim and Ann began interim ministry at Mountain View in May of 2017.  Tim grew up in Door County, Wisconsin, and Ann grew up in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.  Tim has served in pastoral ministry for over thirty years as a youth pastor, teaching pastor, and lead pastor.   Over the past decade, Tim and Ann have embraced a calling to help churches in need of some restoration. They have gone to churches that upon arrival were to one degree or another in some measure of decline, malaise, or even crisis.  They have had opportunity to see the power and faithfulness of God expressed in restorative grace in these fellowships.  Though Tim and Ann do not pretend to suppose they can fix or turn around a fellowship in and of themselves, they are confident in God and in His ability to work powerfully in and through His church.  Tim’s ministry focuses on helping churches to recover a high view of God, and to refresh an awareness of the supremacy of Jesus.  Tim orients ministry around the gospel of Jesus, the authority of God’s Word, emphasizing the practice of personal and corporate prayer, evaluating and implementing systems and structures conducive to church health, and proactively loving people both in the community of the church, and in the larger community outside the church.  Three weeks following graduation from Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN, Tim and Ann were married in June of 1980.  They have familiarity with Colorado in that Tim attended Denver Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 1983. Tim also did doctoral work at Gordon-Conwell Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.  Tim and Ann have been blessed with three adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and seven grandchildren.  Though both Tim and Ann like the Denver Broncos, Tim is an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and Ann is a Minnesota Viking fan (Tim is still desiring that she be delivered regarding this affliction!).  Ann and Tim have been humbled by the warm welcome they have received at Mountain View.  They are enthused about the privilege of serving in the Roaring Fork Valley during this interim at Mountain View between permanent lead pastors.

Evan Petras
Youth Ministry Intern

Evan Petras

Evan is serving as our youth ministries intern. Having grown up in the Winter Park Colorado area he has a unique call and passion to meet kids where they are at in the context of life in the Rocky Mountains. Evan has a deep resolve to make disciples who can make disciples. He strives to first and foremost fulfill the great command of loving God and loving people, through that he finds the strength to live out the call given to all Christians, the great commission, or as he calls it the great co-mission, found in Matthew 28: 18-20, making disciples who can then make disciples. He considers it a privilege to co-mission with Christ in bringing the lost to the saving faith of Jesus Christ and teach them how to do the same for those around them. Throughout the past 3 years Evan faithfully served youth in Eau Claire Wisconsin where he moved in 2013. During the summer of 2015 and 2016 Evan served with a mission’s organization called Next Step Ministries. He and a team of 8 lead ten, one-week missions trips in Oklahoma City doing disaster relief and community development in 2015. During the summer of 2016 Evan had the opportunity to lead a team of 11 also leading ten; one-week missions trips in the context of Colorado Springs working closely with the impoverished and homeless. God used those two summer to further develop Evan as a leader and deeper instill in him the resolve to make disciples. Evan desires to see the modern day church move away from “business as usual” and get back to the disciple making core that Jesus first modeled then commanded his disciples to do the same. His love for Jesus Christ and for students has brought him to Mountain View Church where he desires to see a movement of biblical discipleship and disciple making ignite, as students experience the eternal value of know Christ Jesus and making him known.

Mary Jean Carnevale
Administrative Assistant and Children’s Ministry Coordinator

I am excited to be coordinating the children’s ministry and working as the administrative assistant at Mountain View Church. The position of children’s ministry coordinator offers a wonderful opportunity for me to share my love of God and His teachings with children. I worked with the Mother of Preschool Program (MOPS) for 20 years and was involved with at-risk youth programs for 24 years. All my experience has helped me realize that every child of God is special, talented, and has immense potential.  As administrative assistant, it is my privilege to serve as God leads.
