Our Staff and Elders

Meet the people who keep everything running smoothly!

Lead Pastor

Steve Grosz

Steve is the Lead Pastor at Mountain View Church. Over the past 19 years he has had opportunity to serve in various roles in church ministry including: camp and conference speaker, college pastor, and 15 years experience as a lead pastor. Steve graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.

Though education and experience are certainly blessings, the real value of both has been to reveal a simple truth. Namely, that God in His love and forgiveness is the first mover in a radically renewed life. As God draws people into a relationship with Himself—and they respond in authentic faith and surrender—new community is created.

In addition to their MVC family, Steve and Michelle have been blessed with two children, Daniel and Abigail, and are reveling in reading bedtime stories and playing endless games of hide and seek.

Family Discipleship Coach

Pete Schaffner

It is a joy to be part of the Mountain View family.  My wife, Patty, and I have been part of this congregation since 1980 and love it. During this time, we have partnered with the church by leading Northwestern Colorado Youth for Christ for the past 37 years.  We love young people and families and can’t imagine a more fulfilling calling then seeing them grow together in Christ.

Administrative Assistant and Children's Ministry

Mary Jean Carnevale

I am excited to be coordinating the children's ministry and working as the administrative assistant at Mountain View Church. The position of children's ministry coordinator offers a wonderful opportunity for me to share my love of God and His teachings with children. I worked with the Mother of Preschool Program (MOPS) for 20 years and was involved with at-risk youth programs for 24 years. All my experience has helped me realize that every child of God is special, talented, and has immense potential.  As administrative assistant, it is my privilege to be serve God by assisting His people and following as He leads.

Music Ministry Developer

Brian Harris

Christ came into my life in 1979 right here at Mountain View Church. From that time on I have always loved music with a message, and for me that is Christian music. First I listened to the music and then became involved in a worship team called "Celebration " in 1989. In 1991 a contemporary worship team began at Mountain View Church and I have been involved up front for 30 wonderful and exciting years! I feel that music Ministry is an integral part of Sunday mornings. The music draws the congregation in for a serious and personal visit with our Great God. I look forward to this opportunity to help the music Ministry of Mountain View Church to flourish and grow. To uplift His name through music is truly an honor and privilege.

Youth Ministry Intern

Sarah Wagler

I am once again so excited to be working as the Youth Intern here at MVC! I’m looking forward to connecting with the youth, learning their stories, and helping them to grow spiritually and as a person. I am currently attending Abilene Christian University, in Abilene, Texas, as a Child and Family Services major with a minor in Psychology. Heading into my fourth year, I have yet to decide whether or not I want to go to grad school or start working as a parent educator or case manager at a family services organization. I am hoping to continue growing, not only as a student, but as an athlete. I run cross country and track for ACU. Though I have set high goals for myself, it has been going by super fast! So far, it’s been an incredible journey, while some may say it’s been a challenging one! Regardless, I am so blessed to have these opportunities to serve and honor God!
